Gryphon consists of seasoned business executives, entrepreneurs and investors who enjoy leveraging their experience to design and implement financial management, business development, corporate revitalization and business financing solutions for the benefit of small companies.
Brian founded Gryphon to assist small companies in growing profits, cash flow and value by providing owners, managers and executives with the value-added analysis, counsel and leadership required to make good business decisions. He provides unbiased opinions on business performance and recommendations for strategic, operational and financial performance, then works tirelessly on behalf of his clients to achieve those improvements.
His experience across industries, from manufacturing and business services to technology and distribution, has allowed him to become adept at adjusting to changes in market and financial conditions. Brian has served as a trusted advisor, and has also held CFO, SVP and EVP positions in small companies. With more than 15 years of experience under his belt, he knows how to navigate the growing pains unique to small companies while also developing and implementing the strategies and tactics required for them to achieve higher levels of success. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in closing over $250 million in debt, equity and merger and acquisition transactions.
Brian earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Diego State University and an MBA from the University of Southern California. He is also the proud owner (okay, an owner) of a team (Green Bay Packers, Inc.) that has won more championships than any other team in the NFL.
Brent is an accomplished executive, investor, and management consultant as well as a licensed corporate attorney. With over 15 years serving as either a senior executive, corporate/general counsel or private equity investor, Brent has attained experience in the industries of consumer goods, healthcare/biotech, IT and professional services. Over his career, Brent has held the titles of COO, CFO, CLO and SVP of Corporate Development and has been instrumental, in some fashion or another, in raising capital or completing liquidity transactions in an amount of roughly half of a billion dollars. In addition to presently serving as a venture capital partner, Brent also serves as a trusted member of several Boards of Directors and sits on the advisory boards of a variety of companies. Brent holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Anderson School of Business (University of California, Riverside), a J.D. from Whittier College and an M.B.A. from the Marshall School of Business (University of Southern California).
Robert Pagliarini, MS, MA, CFP
Robert is president of Pacifica Wealth Advisors, a preeminent financial planning and wealth management firm with a national reputation for serving affluent investors and sudden wealth recipients – individuals that quickly receive a large sum of money through inheritance, lawsuit, lottery, entertainment/sports contracts or business sale. Ean has over 15 years of finance and accounting experience with businesses ranging from startups to large, global institutions. He has developed and led groups in IT, HR, Strategic Planning and Finance. His areas of expertise include M&A, due diligence, business valuation, debt structuring, working capital and treasury management, organizational structure and development, manufacturing, international business, Asia-sourcing, ERP and CRM implementations and turnaround strategy. Ean is currently EVP & CFO for Core Health and Fitness, LLC, the holding company for StairMaster and StarTrac. He has led both global fitness equipment brands through financial turnarounds, achieving positive net income in under two years and the refinancing of a $43 million debt facility. Previously, Ean held the role of Regional VP of Finance for Sapa, the world’s largest aluminum profile producer, where he held the top finance role for the West Region in North America. Prior to Sapa, Ean held various management positions with Nautilus, a leader in the fitness equipment industry, including Controller for the Direct to Consumer business, Director of Strategic Planning and Director of FP&A. Early in his career, Ean worked in the consulting arm of Arthur Andersen where he advised mid-market clients on business systems & finance strategies. He also held positions with a telecommunications startup. Ean holds a BS in Accounting and an MBA with Honors from Portland State University. Ean is a CPA (inactive) in the State of Oregon.
Dan brings a wealth of experience in marketing, both as a serial entrepreneur as well as a management consultant. He has a well-earned reputation for being able to maximize the ROI of marketing efforts regardless of the budget. His experience ranges from print to digital to video and film, executing both one-off and complete branding/rebranding solutions for his clients. Beginning with the target customer in mind, he designs campaigns that reach that audience in the most effective manner possible. Dan earned his Bachelor’s degree from Sacramento State, owns a video and film production company and is a published author.
